Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha, the first Hyatt Regency brand in Qatar, has announced the appointment of Mert Duran as Executive Chef and Alena Dmitrienko as Front Office Manager.
Mert, a Turkish national, carries more than two decades of culinary experience at Hyatt Hotels in Middle & Central Asia, Europe and the UAE. He also has extensive knowledge of banquet and outside catering.
His recent position was Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Bishkek.
Mert will be responsible for all culinary operations and concepts, overseeing five dining venues, the hotel In-Room Dining as well as banquets and outside catering. He will be focusing on creating and implementation of different menus in all the outlet venues as well as different banquet offerings making sure to provide guests with memorable food experiences.
A Russian national, Alena Dmitrienko is a long-serving Hyatt hotelier with 10 years of experience in luxury hotel operations. Her last post was Front Office Manager at the Luxury Five Star Hotel- Ararat Park Hyatt Moscow.
Carrying a vast experience on luxury hotel operations, Alena will be responsible for driving Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha’s seamless and intuitive guests’ experience making sure a stress free travel to all the hotel guests.
