Chef Izu Ani and Michelin-starred Chef Julien Roucheteau from La Réserve de Beaulieu presented guests with the first glimpse of their collaborative menu at IZU Restaurant on Tuesday 26 October. The chefs created a 7-course menu with bold and innovative French-focused cuisine for guests to experience and is available until Saturday 30 October.
This week of high-end gastronomy inaugurates the “World Class Chefs” initiative presented by Qatar Tourism, in collaboration with Qatar Airways, Qatar Aircraft Catering company (QACC) and Kings of Kitchen. The two-year long initiative aims to host high-profile chefs from around the world, with the purpose of exploring investment opportunities by introducing the world’s top culinary talent to the emerging hub of gastronomy in the Middle East.
The menu features French specialties prepared with inspired technique and seasonal ingredients with Chef Izu’s seared langoustine with homemade gnocchi and truffle butter, and Chef Julien’s roasted monkfish medallions with fennel, caviar butter sauce and anis seed lemon steam. Desserts include bourbon vanilla doughnut with homemade yoghurt ice cream and a summer berries emulsion and a sweet chocolate delight with combawa lime sorbet and marigold flower pesto.
“This menu represents both of our takes on Mediterranean food and sharing our passions for cooking.” said Chef Izu, explaining the inspiration for the menu “We’ve collaborated on a menu which is balanced by bringing the sea, the land and the beauty of seasonal ingredients that we want to share with our guests at Mandarin Oriental, Doha that is simple food, full of flavor for an adventure of discovery,” he added.
Dinner is served at two sittings at 6:30pm and 9pm with a 7-course menu for QAR 520 and only until Saturday 30 October. Reservations are required, please call +974 4008 8888 or email modoh-reservations@mohg.com.
